I turn 26 in a few days. On my 23rd birthday, I was diagnosed with a cancer that statistically promised me I’d not see my 26th year. On my 24th birthday, the cancer had spread to my bones and my vocal cords, and I ended up in a wheelchair with no voice… But by my 25th birthday, I was walking, talking, and thriving.
The last 12 months are some of the greatest moments I’ve ever lived through. To cheat death is one thing, but to cheat death and stomp on it’s head is another. I’m so thankful this year. I’m thankful for my life–but equally if not more thankful for the life of those I’ve met and ‘made’ with this year.
I feel like there’s been a theme of time and the finite in this years work… so here’s my ‘greatest hits’ of the moments I’ve been lucky enough to be behind the lens for.
